I've always liked playing games. But I've also always been discontent with the mainstream media. Hollywood seems to repeat the same stories every year, if not with sequels then with the same archetypes and assumptions about the world. The record labels haven't figured out to stay relevant to date. And the video game industry is perhaps the worst culprit of them all. Most plots are rubbish. Characters are stereotypical and shallow. Games aren't just aimed at children anymore, but the quality of what is out there is not enough.

I'm interested in seeing this medium evolve in a sophisticated art that challenges and moves us. Where are the games that make you smarter, more educated and cultured? How many games out there teach you anything? Why is it so rare to walk away from a gaming session saying "wow, it felt great to to do that?"

Video games, as an interactive media, can provide the most immersive and visceral experiences, but do we really want to experience what most games offer? Don't get me wrong, I've shot my fair share of Nazis or invading Aliens, but at what point is it just senseless violence? I don't really want to feel like I'm at war or under attack from aliens, it would be pretty terrible and the simulation of that isn't necessary.

Of course, some games have raised this issue. But my aim with this site is to share my experience with games with you and help others find enriching, quality entertainment. Also, I hope to provide constructive criticism of games, with the hope that it will educate the public and game developers as to how best make and enjoy games.

See you online!

My Story

Studied journalism at one of the best programs in the Southern United States. I live in Sunny South Florida, far from a tech, let a lone game hub. However, I have been playing video games since I can remember, and even though adult life has eroded the time I have for them, I still enjoy a good gaming session!
